Join Drone Girl Islay on an epic adventure across Mongolia, soaring from the vast South Gobi desert to the legendary eagle hunters of the Altai. On the return journey, follow a breathtaking route through Mongolia’s northern lakes and the endless green steppes. Islay (eye-luh) is a storyteller, drone videographer, and photographer with a background in advertising and motion media. Since 2016, she has traveled solo to 47 countries, motorbiked 4000 km across Vietnam, sailed from Bermuda to Maine, driven across Mongolia, and lived 69 days out of her car while filming the U.S.
During her first trip to Mongolia she has discovered and captured locations like the White Stupa in the Gobi desert, ending up reaching millions with her posts.

Her passion lies in opening minds and hearts to new places and perspectives through visual storytelling. She is working for Getty Images, DJI and Starlink as well as other clients with her outstanding drone skills to capture the world from a bird's eye perspective.

    Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Ulaanbaatar airport, followed by a transfer to a premium hotel in the heart of the city. Explore the vibrant capital as you gather supplies and get ready for your offroad journey. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the city’s modern restaurants, offering Mongolian food and international cuisine.

  • Spot antelopes and enjoy your first off road drive

    Day 2

    Leave the city behind and head south across the open steppe. Feel the excitement build as you spot herds of white-tailed gazelles and antelopes in the wild. Your first taste of offroad adventure leads you to the rocky Tuv Mountains, where you’ll set up camp under the stars.

  • Offroad Fun to the Rocks of Bagaa

    Day 3

    Bagaa Gazriin Chuluu
    Journey deeper into the wild Gobi to the dramatic granite formations of Bagaa Gazriin Chuluu. Spend the afternoon hiking among ancient rocks, sacred springs, and hidden caves. Camp out nearby or stay in a cozy ger camp.

     

     

  • Drive to the edge of an ancient ocean and experience rainbow cliffs.

    Day 4
    • Colorful cliffs on the edge of the Gobi

    Traverse the shifting desert landscapes to Tsagaan Suvarga, the White Stupa cliffs. These stunning formations glow in shades of white, orange, and pink — remnants of an ancient sea. Watch the cliffs change color with the sunset, a magical sight in the middle of the desert.

  • Explore the home of vultures in the mountains.

    Yolin Am
    Venture into the deep gorges of Yolin Am, home to soaring lammergeiers and other rare birds. Ride horses into the narrow valleys, hike beneath towering cliffs, and discover patches of year-round ice in this cool mountain oasis of the Gobi.

  • Explore the home of snow leopards

    Day 6
    • Scenic drive, wildlife observation for snow leopards
    • Guest ger of a nomadic family or camping.

    Head further west into prime snow leopard territory. While sightings are rare, you may spot ibex and argali sheep, the snow leopard’s prey. Stay overnight with a local herder family or camp in the wilderness, soaking up the remote beauty of the Gobi-Altai.

  • Highest Sand Dunes in the Gobi

    Reach the towering Khongoryn Els, the Gobi’s largest sand dunes. Hike to the dune crests, try sandboarding down the golden slopes, and witness one of the most spectacular sunsets over endless waves of sand.
